Why Do People Love Travel So Much?

For me, it isn't just the destination. It's not the hotel, the airport, the sightseeing or even the weather.
It's the feeling.
The feeling that something exciting is coming, something new, something fun. The feeling of possibility and that life is about to become bigger than the school run, the laundry pile, the work deadlines and all the little things that fill our days.
As a mum of three, life can sometimes feel very practical. There are always things that need doing and people who need something. Travel reminds me that there's a whole world outside my daily routine.
I think that's why so many of us love it. Because it gives us something to look forward to.
Stories to tell. And memories that last way longer than the trip itself.
Sometimes, one of my favourite parts of travel is the research stage - lusting over destinations and hotels and comparing prices to see what's actually possible (if you're curious, you can take a look at how I research trips and compare travel prices here). It's about imagining myself there and counting down the days until I go. Really indulging in that travel feeling.
Travel reminds us that adventure, freedom and excitement still exists.
And sometimes that's all we need!
